Make Your Mark at Prysmian! Team Overview and Job Responsibilities What you'll do: This position reports to the Quality Manager. The Marshall, TX facility produces Low Voltage, Bare Overhead Distribution/Transmission, and Medium Voltage power cables. The Quality coordinator is responsible for scheduling and supervising QA hourly associates, coordinating laboratory testing/inspections to support production, and ensure that products meet customer/industry specifications. This position is also responsible for providing guidance and recommendations to the manufacturing floor based on test data to support continuous improvement and non-conformance root cause investigations. Principle Functional Responsibilities: Accountable to the Quality Manager this position is responsible to direct and maintain a high level of Quality through testing and inspections in the Quality Assurance Laboratory through these responsibilities; -Provides weekly work schedules for QA hourly associates -Oversee QA hourly associates Vacation/FH/EVAC submissions and schedules accordingly -Oversees laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data to ensure compliance to industry standards and customer/engineering specifications - -Supervises QA hourly associates, and provides assistance when needed Oversee QA hourly associates training matrix -Records and sometimes interprets results to present to senior colleagues - -Engages in Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, especially those which can save time and improve QA lab reliability -Provides all the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function effectively -Confers with management and engineering staff to determine conformance to applicable specifications and standards -Applies strict adherence to correct procedures and safety guidelines during testing and inspection -Records and evaluates test data and documents deviations from standards - -Enters data into computer for analysis -Conducts routine tasks timely and accurately following strict methodologies -- -Provides training to new associates -Performs other tasks that are reasonable to the job as requested by Direct Management. Supervision Scope: Direct supervision of the Marshall Quality Assurance Laboratory and Laboratory Technicians. Who are we looking for? Knowledge of process controls and product quality planning techniques such as Gauge R&R, SPC, VSM, and Control Plans. Must have experience developing SOP’s, work instructions and other supporting documents to address process and ISO requirements. Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis. Must be able to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Critical thinker, with excellent analytical abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with solid planning, leadership, and administrative skills. High energy and demonstrates urgency and fast pace. Good understanding of business principles and practices; can effectively manage the manufacturing function with a bottom-line result.

Requirements

  • A results driven individual who has demonstrated ability working in a high-performance manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of process controls and product quality planning techniques such as Gauge R&R, SPC, VSM, and Control Plans.
  • Must have experience developing SOP’s, work instructions and other supporting documents to address process and ISO requirements.
  • Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis.
  • Must be able to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Critical thinker, with excellent analytical abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with solid planning, leadership, and administrative skills.

  • Minimum of three (3) or more years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment – required.
  • Leadership ability in a team-based environment.
  • Strong database background, proficient user of Microsoft Office & Project, Visio, Minitab software systems.
  • Strong manufacturing background: ability to understand and develop appropriate product specifications.
  • Quality systems auditing experience.
  • Proven ability to work in a team setting and a strong manufacturing floor presence.
  • High School Graduate - required

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing Training Preferred.
  • Experience with wire and cable is a plus.
  • Degree - preferred
