About The Position

The Quality Coordinator Lead is responsible for overseeing quality assurance processes in the production environment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This role involves conducting inspections, monitoring production lines, and collaborating with team members to maintain high-quality food products. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving quality issues while supporting the overall production goals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in food science or related field preferred.
  • Experience in quality assurance or food production environment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, and food safety regulations is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify quality issues.
  • Effective communication skills to report findings and collaborate with team members.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control) monitoring.
  • Familiarity with allergen testing procedures.
  • Certification in food safety or quality assurance.

Responsibilities

  • Put on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear at the start of the shift and ensure all safety devices are functioning properly.
  • Obtain work schedule and daily production paperwork and prepare for operations, checking the Infinity database for issues.
  • Conduct pre-op inspections, HACCP checks, and certification of analysis, and set up and calibrate QA equipment.
  • Assist with production line set-up, check shift reports, centerline data, downtime stops, and operator issues as needed.
  • Complete allergen testing at start-up and change-overs, sending samples to the lab as required.
  • Check recipes, temperatures, moisture, appearance, taste, smell of product, verify carton and case data-codes, dates, labels, and inspect non-conforming incoming ingredients.
  • Obtain samples from production lines, record net weight, size, temperature, visually inspect product, identify defective and non-conforming product, and evaluate re-work.
  • Collect samples for lab testing, calibrate, inspect, evaluate, and verify testing and analyses of finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
  • Notify Line Lead of all deviations in quality factors and communicate results to QA Management in a timely manner.
  • Monitor SPC, production, packaging, tools, equipment, and employees to ensure all GMP procedures for handling food products are met.
  • Initiate and complete QA Hold process for off-specification products and aid in the sampling and disposition of held materials.
  • Complete environmental monitoring, equipment swabbing, inspections, and maintenance of production and QA/QC documents.
  • File QA paperwork, attend production, quality, and other related meetings, and complete all other QA administrative duties as required.
  • Observe all areas of the plant for sanitation criteria, report deficiencies to sanitation supervisor, and complete appropriate audit forms.
  • At the end of the shift, secure all equipment, complete all required paperwork, and perform general housekeeping and clean-up as required.
