About The Position

The QC Lab Technician is responsible for supporting the Quality Control department through various laboratory and quality assurance activities. This role involves assisting in daily QC operations, performing lab testing, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with internal and external standards.

Requirements

• Proficiency in English and math skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Experience in the food industry is highly advantageous.
• Basic knowledge or experience in SQF, GMPs, chemistry, microbiology, analytical instruments, and the scientific method.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory testing procedures.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Adaptable, flexible, and collaborative within a team environment.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Previous experience in a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist QC technicians with daily issues as they arise.
• Provide temporary coverage in any QC capacity or shift as needed.
• File, review, and verify SQF and other quality-related documents.
• Assist in the creation and verification of Finished Good COAs.
• Maintain inventory and order QC, office, and lab supplies.
• Perform routine lab testing (pH, moisture, fat, brix, etc.) on raw materials and finished products.
• Conduct environmental swab tests, allergen tests, and other microbial testing.
• Calibrate lab equipment and maintain testing records.
• Support internal audits, GMP inspections, and SQF validations.
• Update and revise lab procedures and QC forms.
• Enter data for lab tests, environmental swabs, and other QC activities.
• Coordinate and document environmental and sanitation meetings.
• Collaborate on special projects with QA Management.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and chemical inventory.
• Dispose of chemical waste in compliance with regulations.
