About The Position

The Quality Control Technician at Blue Force Gear, Inc. is responsible for ensuring that all quality standards are met throughout the manufacturing process of military equipment. This role involves creating and maintaining quality documents, inspecting products at various stages of production, and educating the production team on quality control issues. The technician plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the product and ensuring that it meets the company's high standards for quality and performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Associates degree preferred.
  • Quality Control certification preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of quality control experience within a manufacturing environment with emphasis in textiles, preferred.
  • Must have knowledge of quality control standards.
  • Experience in reading drawings and tolerances.
  • Must have an analytical, logical thought process with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Quality control certification, preferred.
  • Ability to move materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Knowledge of tactical gear, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains all quality documents and procedures.
  • Ensures that all quality procedures are followed during each phase of production.
  • Inspects BFG product at various stages of production to ensure consistency across all product categories.
  • Conducts visual, durability and measurement assessments to ensure appropriate standards are being maintained.
  • Rejects unacceptable product, completes repair tag and sends to Production team for repairs or back to appropriate subcontractor for repair.
  • Educates internal production team and subcontractors on all quality control concerns/issues.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for quality issues and notes the corrective actions.
  • Creates process checklists and coordinates quality inspections.
  • Manages distribution of Quality Tech packs and approved quality counter samples for internal and external reference for subcontractors.
  • Reviews and approves counter samples and standards for in house and subcontractor production references.
  • Works closely with Product Development on current product standards and verifies quality callouts on new products.
  • Reports problems to supervisor, associated departments and senior management immediately.
  • Evaluates RMA items and determines product disposition.
  • Inspects and documents repair actions performed.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to expedite orders as needed.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Supports 6S initiative by keeping work area clean.
