The Quality Control (QC) Inspector ensures that our products meet all quality standards and specifications by performing quality inspection and auditing activities.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in a related field preferred. Relevant quality inspection experience may be used in lieu of education requirements.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify defects and discrepancies.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Must meet visual acuity requirements.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges and torque gauges.
  • Microsoft and basic computer skills.
  • Strong skills in blueprint and part drawing interpretation, including understanding GD&T (per ASME) and accessing digital prints and drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in an ISO 9001 environment a plus.
  • Familiar with Lean Manufacturing tools (standard work, 5S, visual management, etc.) a plus.
  • Experience in identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing safer, more efficient practices across operations preferred.
  • Positive attitude, accountability, and willingness to learn and grow a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Understands Requirements: Reads and understands print drawings, specifications and purchase orders for correct test requirements, procedures, and sampling plans.
  • Inspect Products: Conduct thorough inspections of products at various stages of the manufacturing process to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. First article? Final inspection?
  • Document Findings: Record and report inspection results, including any defects or discrepancies, and maintain accurate records of inspection activities.
  • Collaborate with Production Team: Work closely with the production team to communicate quality issues, provide feedback, and recommend corrective actions to ensure product quality.
  • Compliance: Ensure that products comply with industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing processes (e.g. root cause analysis).
  • Training: Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards and inspection procedures.
  • Audit Processes: Supports and participates in internal audits and corrective action follow ups, as required.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained to guarantee accuracy and reliability.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
