Purpose and role of job: We are seeking a Quality Technician for our First Quality Print & Packaging facility located in Anderson, SC. This position is responsible for all aspects of the Quality Technician role listed below in a flexible capacity. Responsible to ensure coverage for the department. This includes working 12-hour shifts on both days and nights when necessary for coverage.

Requirements

  • Related Associates Degree a plus, high school diploma required with at least 3 years experience in a Quality related position.
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities as it relates to Quality is required.
  • Walk/stand 100% of time during a 12-hour shift
  • Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling and squatting throughout shift.
  • Occasional reaching overhead during shift.
  • Frequent lifting or carrying of boxes weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Constant use of hands throughout shift.
  • Constant light and firm grasping with hands throughout shift.
  • Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.
  • Full color vision is an essential job requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Quality Certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Will complete trial testing.
  • RD testing for Lamination and Extrusion.
  • ColorCert Management
  • Experience Process Auditor
  • Maintain thorough understanding of QC test methods and quality systems related to product testing and associated systems.
  • Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained in QC lab.
  • Ensure calibration schedules are maintained on lab equipment as prescribed in calibration procedures.
  • Ensure test equipment remains in good working order; providing accurate results.
  • Devise/Revise Work Instructions and Forms as related to quality functions.
  • Provide training and annual re-certification of Operations team members QC testing procedures/requirements.
  • Maintain quality database in support of Operation’s needs and quality System.
  • Audit and review the completion of product test results and records for accuracy and conformance to quality systems.
  • Review daily production records and confirm conformance to requirements.
  • Maintain QC records.
  • Prepare CoA as required by customers. Ensure product meets specification.
  • Assist in investigation and disposition of materials.
  • Effectively manage On Hold area through efforts to obtain timely disposition of materials.
  • Provide relevant information to Operations on reasons for On Hold as means to improve % Yield.
  • Provide support for Customer audits of FQP&P business/quality systems.
  • Assist QE and Operations in root cause analysis of nonconforming materials.
  • Assist Quality Manager with any job needed.
  • Performs other duties as necessary when directed to do so.
  • Follows necessary GMPs to comply with regulations (SQF).
  • Conducts job in a manner which complies to the food safety program (SQF).
  • Participates in Food Safety Activities.
