The laboratory technician will be responsible for independently performing basic aggregate tests and assisting with other construction materials testing, as required. The technician will be expected to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and calibrations on laboratory equipment. The test data collected is expected to be accurately entered by the technician into the lab's Materials Testing System (MTS). The technician will be expected to perform their job functions with minimal supervision after training. They will be required to pursue further developmental education in the form of professional certifications in aggregate, concrete, and/or asphalt testing. Job Description Key Duties and Responsibilities: Receives, labels and safely stores samples to be tested Performs defined and straightforward tests needed for analysis and reporting Records tests outcomes Stores samples in accordance with all safety and other requirements as directed Cleans and maintains lab equipment Assists in maintaining equipment records and daily work logs Learns new methods, techniques, and specific testing procedures In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined, the successful candidate may be expected to take on other tasks and assignments as required, including but not limited to duties outside the typical scope of the role to support overall team operations and organizational needs. Flexibility and adaptability to evolving job demands are essential.
