This an opportunity for a motivated individual to play an integral role for the quality of material inputs and output of final product in a state of the art cement manufacturing facility. The Lab Technician reports to the Quality Control Supervisor. The job responsibilities and functions include but are not limited to the following: Ensure sample integrity and properly collect, identify, prepare and homogenize and store all samples Collect, record, store, analyze and distribute information concerning quality control results Communicate all appropriate results, information and problems to the appropriate supervisors, foremen and plant associates Monitor the quality of the quarried materials through the appropriate testing Control the quality of the raw mill production by performing the appropriate tests and making any necessary changes to maintain the posted targets Control the quality of the finish mill production by performing the appropriate tests and making any necessary changes to maintain the posted targets Control the quality of the kiln production by performing the appropriate testing Perform testing that will enhance the production rate or quality of all plant operations Learn the procedure for the making of glass pellets Insure all plant production meets the specifications of the company, the plant and the customer by performing appropriate testing Perform tests to resolve customer complaints and meet customer needs Assist in the development of new products Monitor all laboratory equipment and plant equipment for proper operation and report any deviations to the proper personnel Keep the department and associated equipment clean Perform tests to determine the quality of fuels Determine the quality of purchased materials by performing the appropriate tests Perform wet chemistry when required Perform all physical testing duties Perform production and inventory record keeping duties Participate in the plant microscopy program Complete assigned work and be in compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory requirements.
