About The Position

The Quality Technician I acts as a liaison between QC/QA supervision and QC department technicians, ensuring food safety and product quality. This role promotes positive changes in the quality system, leads by example, and excels in training and motivating others. Working on the production floor with supervisors and QC technicians, the QC Tech I reviews hourly tests to meet customer standards and escalates issues affecting food safety and quality to management.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience working in a dynamic
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus
  • Must be able to read and write
  • Able to use tablets/iPads and computers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proven attention to detail, responsible, self-motivated, and independent
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible schedule based on production needs, including weekends
  • Stand and walk for extended periods
  • Walk on uneven ground and wet or slippery floors
  • Twisting, turning, kneeling, stooping, and bending most of the day
  • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to spices (allergens), including but not limited to soy and wheat
  • Exposure to high noise levels and cold environment
  • PPE—Slip-resistant shoes, a hair and beard net, safety glasses, and earplugs are required in the work areas, and gloves are recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Able to perform all requirements of QC/QA Technicians.
  • Work closely with all departments to achieve quality standards, identify food safety and process improvements, and communicate recommendations.
  • Support in the decision-making process of acceptance and rejection of the product.
  • Responsible for verification of the lines by ensuring they are food safety compliant before start-up, and asking for corrections as needed.
  • Verification of packing and labeling requirements, GMP, and HACCP compliance, etc.
  • Responsible for line clearance and documentation in accordance with established regulations.
  • Analytical verifications of finished goods and raw materials based on established frequencies.
  • Organoleptic evaluation of the products in relation to shelf-life verifications.
  • Perform daily GMP’s and operational inspections of the processing areas.
  • Perform calibration of the equipment.
  • Carry out any assigned special projects, as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
