About The Position

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for inspecting and verifying the condition, functionality, and presentation of RV units before they are delivered to customers or moved to the sales lot. This role ensures that every RV meets FunTown RV’s quality standards by conducting thorough inspections, documenting findings, and coordinating with service and make-ready teams to resolve issues. The Quality Control Technician plays a key role in maintaining customer satisfaction and reducing post-sale service issues.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–3 years of experience in RV, automotive, or similar mechanical inspection roles.
  • Working knowledge of RV systems including plumbing, electrical, propane, and HVAC.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to read and follow technical manuals and inspection guidelines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with multiple departments.
  • Proficiency with tablets, inspection software, or checklists is a plus.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or in a team setting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive inspections on RVs prior to customer delivery or sales lot placement.
  • Check interior and exterior features including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, slide-outs, seals, and cosmetics.
  • Verify all systems are operational and safe according to manufacturer and company standards.
  • Document inspection results and flag units needing repairs or touch-ups.
  • Record all defects and quality concerns in tracking systems or inspection checklists.
  • Communicate clearly with service and make-ready teams to coordinate timely repairs.
  • Reinspect units after repairs to ensure issues have been resolved correctly.
  • Escalate major or recurring quality concerns to leadership for review.
  • Maintain knowledge of quality control standards and updates from manufacturers.
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce defects and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure consistency across inspections and provide feedback to technicians when needed.
  • Assist in developing inspection checklists and documentation procedures.
  • Confirm that units staged for delivery are clean, stocked, and customer-ready.
  • Help identify units with cosmetic or functional concerns before they reach the sales floor.
  • Collaborate with sales and service teams to prioritize units based on delivery or event needs.
  • Monitor readiness timelines and support efficient inventory flow.
  • Ensure all inspections meet internal quality and safety standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Use proper tools and equipment when conducting inspections.
  • Report any unsafe conditions immediately to management.
