Join our team as a Quality Control Technician and play a vital role in maintaining the excellence and safety of our pretzel manufacturing processes. Your daily responsibilities will include quality checks on processes, documentation, and products to ensure everything meets our high standards and complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) specifications. Requirements

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common industry, production, and technical documents in English.
  • Committed to upholding safety and quality standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a quality control role within a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with GMPs, HACCP, and food safety regulations is advantageous.
  • Strong quality aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills within a team environment.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality and safety.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively in English.
  • Basic math skills and ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to work independently with high attention to detail.
  • 1-3 years of quality experience in a manufacturing setting (food manufacturing preferred but not required)
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability of adjusting or moving objects of varying weights up to 30 lbs. in all directions.
  • Ability to communicate with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
  • Ability to withstand various climates through the facility i.e. freezer, dock, production (as low as -15 degrees up to 110 degrees)
  • Ability to work in an environment with flashing lights, horns, and powered moving equipment operating in proximity.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking and/or remaining in a stationary position and often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to move self into different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and/or confined spaces.
  • Must be physically able to ascend and descend ladders, stairs, ramps, poles and scaffolding.
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach out.
  • Adjust body movements or equipment controls to keep pace with speed changes of moving objects.
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
  • Adaptability to work in diverse environments and surfaces.
  • Ensure compliance with GMPs and maintain a clean work environment.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment as needed.
  • Stand and move around the manufacturing floor for up to 8 hours.
  • Capability to stand, walk, squat, and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tests on finished products, raw materials, and other related items as required.
  • Conduct daily Food Safety & Quality Reviews, noting any issues and communicating them to your Supervisor.
  • Monitor product weight, temperatures, packaging, and more to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Review production documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Carry out physical testing on products, including assessments of weight, color, strength, and packaging.
  • Provide support to production lines and machinery.
  • Investigate any quality or food safety issues and assist with case audits.
  • Ensure all labeling meets customer and regulatory requirements and that correct packaging materials are used.
  • Maintain accurate quality records and data entry.
  • Assist in inspections of raw materials and finished products.
  • Support the calibration verification program to ensure all measuring equipment is accurate.
  • Educate and coach all employees on quality and food safety practices.
