About The Position

Position Summary: The Quality Control Technician Level II plays a critical hands-on role in ensuring food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance at Home Run Inn Pizza’s manufacturing facility. The QC Tech II performs inspections on ingredients, in-process products, and finished products to ensure that internal standards, customer requirements, and regulatory requirements are met. Location: Frozen Pizza Production Plant. 1300 Internationale Pkwy, Woodridge, IL60517 Schedule: 3:00pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday with occasional weekends based on department needs.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years+ experience in food manufacturing or quality control preferred
  • Experience working in USDA and FDA regulated facilities
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, cGMPs, and FDA/USDA food safety regulations
  • Able to Speak, Read, and Understand English.
  • Has basic Word and Excel experience.
  • Able to analyze and interpret information.
  • Uses good time management and decision-making skills to assist key personnel in resolving incidents in real time.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift to 50lbs for extended periods

Nice To Haves

  • HACCP, SQF, or GFSI certification
  • Experience working with FDA/USDA Inspectors
  • Familiarity with frozen food or pizza production
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Food Allergen at the Plant: Wheat and Dairy

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and verify CPs, CCPs, cGMPs, and Sanitation activities
  • Performs quality inspection and verification activities to ensure all standards are met
  • Supports and promotes a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with all workplace health and safety requirements and reinforcing safe behaviors across the team.
  • Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety program, complying with all safety and GMP requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety protocols
  • Perform environmental monitoring, allergen verification, pre-operational inspections and hold/release activities
  • Maintain accurate QC records, including test results, deviations, and corrective actions.
  • Assist with internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections
  • Support traceability, mock recalls, and investigations
  • Identify, document, and escalate food safety or quality concerns
  • Verifies calibration of equipment in accordance with company quality procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for non-conformances and support corrective actions and preventive measures (CAPA)
  • Train and coach QC Tech I associates on procedures, documentation, and best practices
  • Acts as a backup to QC Leads and QC Supervisors when needed
  • Work cross-functionally with Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams
  • Promote a culture of food safety, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Other duties as assigned.
