About The Position

The Quality Control Technician II, NGS is responsible for working both independently and as part of a team testing next-generation sequencing kit reagents in concordance with established procedures and ISO 13485 guidelines. The ideal candidate for this role must be able to learn quickly, accept input from team members and supervisory staff, and have a strong foundation for understanding a variety of NGS technologies. This position reports to the xGen Value Stream Leader, is part of the xGen Quality Control team located in Boulder CO, and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Apply analytical skills, scientific methods, or operational processes to perform next-generation library preparation and other molecular biology techniques using clearly defined standard operating procedures. Perform complex data entry and analysis, and peer review for good documentation practices, consistency, and accuracy in accordance with lab procedures Perform daily lab duties including inventory replenishment, reagent preparation, routine equipment maintenance, and laboratory cleaning and organization in accordance with good lab practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a science related field required. (Biology, Genetics, Chemistry or related life science field preferred); Alternatively, an Associate's degree with 2 years of IDT experience
  • 2 years applicable lab experience.
  • Demonstrated skills working with next-generation sequencing technologies including library preparation and data analysis

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in life sciences (biology, chemistry, biochemistry, etc.) or related field
  • Experience working in a regulated environment, especially ISO 13485
