About The Position

Levy is seeking a QC Tech whose heart flutters at words like gradation testing, specific gravity and organic purity testing, who also enjoys working with others from the lab to the field and prefers to take the 10,000-foot view. If you drove your parents crazy needing to constantly know why? why? why? and now you’ve grown into an analytic problem solver extraordinaire, you’d be the perfect QC (Quality Candidate…see what we did there?) addition to the Levy Family. The Levy Group of Companies is seeking a Quality Control Technician - Floating based out of our Grange Hall Road Lab (Holly, MI) but will travel to other locations as needed. The Quality Control Technician tests materials and assists in maintaining or modifying aggregate gradations to meet customer’s demand, using moderately complex testing methods and equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to Climb ladders, scaffolding and stockpiles
  • Basic knowledge of office machinery and software
  • Knowledge of various laboratory equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Willingness to perform other duties as assigned.

Nice To Haves

  • MDOT Aggregate Technician certification preferred
  • MDOT Bituminous Technician certification preferred
  • MCA Level I and/or Level II preferred

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all safety regulations, policies and record keeping
  • Perform routine testing of aggregate samples (quartering samples, running gradations, washes, moistures and picking deleterious)
  • Determine appropriate handling procedures and sampling techniques for specific applications
  • Perform moderately complex testing procedures – determining specific gravity, unit weight, organic plate, etc.
  • Maintain work area for cleanliness and to allow safe movement and access
  • Enter data and generate reporting from the aggregate quality reporting system
  • Meet internal and external customer service expectations
