About The Position

The Quality Control Technician at Four Corners Materials is responsible for ensuring product quality and compliance with specifications through various testing methods. This role involves performing ASTM tests on aggregates, asphalt, and concrete, assisting customers with inquiries, and maintaining equipment. The technician will work under the supervision of the Quality Control Manager and is expected to uphold safety standards while providing quality service to clients.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience with construction quality control testing preferred.
• Experience in a building materials/construction industry preferred.
• NMDOT Aggregates, Asphalt Certifications preferred; CDOT CAPA A, B, C Certifications preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees and managers.

Responsibilities

• Abide by all safety rules and regulations, reporting unsafe practices and conditions promptly.
• Perform required ASTM tests on aggregates and asphalt.
• Conduct aggregate sieve analysis and draft reports to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Maintain all equipment in good operational condition and ensure proper calibration.
• Coordinate concrete mix design adjustments with Plant Foreman/Batch personnel during production.
• Provide quality customer service by addressing questions and complaints professionally and timely.
• Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance, with duties potentially including night work.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
