About The Position

Under general direction of the Lead Quality Control Technician, conducts evaluations of contractor services and maintenance service delivery in managed facilities for the Energy, Transportation & Asset Management (ETAM) Department on assigned shift. Shall be required to perform supported duties at the Integrated Airport Operation & Emergency Center IOC/AOC control room duties when assigned. Daily tasks will vary day-to-day based on what is requiring the attention at the time.

Requirements

  • Completion of high school curriculum or equivalent.
  • Three (3) years formal training and or experience in one of the following technical areas, based on the specific vacancy: Industrial plant operations and/or maintenance Industrial or commercial HVAC and related mechanical systems Industrial or commercial facility electronic and/or electrical systems
  • Any equivalent combination of education and /or experience may be substituted for the above.
  • Possession of valid Class C driver's license.
  • Ability to interpret and monitor contractual service agreements regarding assigned systems and/or facilities.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and be adept in utilizing standard Microsoft office suite software.
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise written reports and communicate effectively, courteously and firmly.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious working relationships, both within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to read and understand technical diagrams and blueprints.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, in written and spoken business English.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain reports with accuracy.
  • Ability to present and project a positive image of the Airport Board.
  • Ability to perform all physical aspects of the position.
  • Ability to pass a physical examination specified for this position.
  • This is a designated safety sensitive position as defined in DFW Airport's Drug and Alcohol Administrative Policy and Procedure. Applicants selected for this position will be required to pass a drug test prior to employment and to submit to drug screening on a random basis during the length of their employment in the safety sensitive position.
  • This is a designated Essential Employee position as defined in DFW Airport's Categories and Classifications Administrative Policy and Procedure. An essential employee is one whose attendance is required to maintain airport operations during an emergency or inclement weather situation.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain an Air Operations Area (AOA) badge.

Nice To Haves

  • Former quality maintenance control experience in an industrial and/or commercial setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project software.
  • Knowledge of airport terminal systems, including baggage carousel, conveyance, general electrical, facility, jet bridge, general building maintenance, cleaning, landscaping, and roadway systems.
  • Knowledge of public governmental procedures employed in the preparation and bid solicitation in awarding of service and maintenance contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Performs quality checks on, Facility Mechanical, Plumbing & Electrical Systems.
  • Performs administrative tasks such as ordering supplies, handling records and scheduling maintenance.
  • Conducts quality and facilities service maintenance contract compliance assessments of ETAM board managed facilities.
  • Assists in the development of service contracts by proposing contract terms, conditions, specifications, and modifications.
  • Identifies and corrects potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Reviews invoices and other documents from contractors to ensure accuracy and completion of work.
  • Applies preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problems.
  • Responds to service requests to verify nature and extent of issues, verify corrective action, recommend solutions, and verifies quality of work.
  • Consults with Quality Assurance Administrator to reach mutually acceptable solutions when disputes arise with contractors.
  • Enters work order related information into the Airport Total Asset Management System.
  • Responds appropriately to customer complaints of system failure or malfunction; investigates and takes corrective action or notifies responsible system service coordinators.
  • Performs trend analyses and monitor performance metrics.
  • Performs regular inspections of facilities and surrounding areas to identify maintenance, appearance, and cleanliness issues inconsistent with standards.
  • Assesses work in progress to ensure compliance with contract, safety and appearance standards; follows up with responsible parties to resolve open issues.
  • May be intermittently tasked with completing facilities maintenance assignments relevant to technical specialty during the absence of viable service contracts.
  • Assists the Environmental Affairs Department in performing field observations of Airport activities with respect to potential environmental issues and notifies the Environmental Affairs Department of any observations that may have environmental impact.
