About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is looking for a Quality Control Technician to join their team in Seattle, WA. This role involves concrete sampling and testing at various job sites and concrete plants, ensuring the quality of materials used in construction. The technician will interact with site personnel and other testing labs, maintaining high standards of quality control in the concrete industry.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• High school diploma or GED required
• Intermediate Excel skills and computer proficiency
• Desire to work cooperatively as part of a productive team
• Ability to work safely, and independently without constant supervision
• Ability to work in extremes of hot and cold weather
• In good physical condition, able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs., sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain
• Must be able to work flexible schedule as start and finish times vary; overtime work, weekends, and nights may be required

Nice To Haves

• Quality control, manufacturing, or production experience
• Experience working with ready mix concrete or related construction materials
• ACI/ASTM Concrete Field Testing Certificate or ability to obtain certificate within 6 months of hire date
• Knowledge of ASTM standards related to ready mix concrete

Responsibilities

• Travel to different job sites and interact with site personnel and other testing labs
• Validate the proper components and materials are used in testing
• Sample and test raw source materials according to specification
• Calibrate, clean, and maintain production tools and testing equipment
• Transport materials back to the lab for further testing
• Troubleshoot concrete field issues
• Record and report test results to management
• Build and maintain relationships with employees and customers

• Paid vacation 40 hours (5 days) per year and paid sick 40 hours per year per Union Contract
