Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Creative/innovative problem solving.
  • Strong technical fundamentals and ability to learn new technology and processes quickly.
  • Able to collaborate in a team environment across organizational boundaries and integrate solutions.
  • Results oriented with high commitment to follow tasks to completion.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years' experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Quality management systems.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, OneNote, Teams, Outlook; SAP; SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of products, PQA philosophy and fundamentals.
  • Green Belt certification a plus.
  • Proficiency in microscopy to analyze and report on product defects.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the Windchill system.
  • Conduct named user training for the Windchill system to ensure all team members are capable of using the system efficiently and effectively.
  • Perform Break Source Analysis to identify and rectify potential issues.
  • Coordinate special events such as the yearly Quality Event and Quality Competition, ensuring these events are well organized and meet their objectives.
  • Oversee the Error Prevention Opportunity program, working to minimize mistakes and improve overall quality.
  • Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Interface with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Warehouse, Purchasing and Technology as needed.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
