About The Position

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Quality Control Department, ensuring compliance with quality standards and regulations. This role involves managing staff, promoting a positive work environment, and maintaining high quality and productivity levels. The supervisor will also handle quality documentation, customer concerns, and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to be a self-initiator.
  • High level of computer and GOLD system literacy.
  • Some college level training preferred but not necessary with relevant experience.
  • Experience in warehouse supervision and the wholesale industry preferred.
  • Flexibility to work any shift as needed.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
  • 2 years of Quality Control/Production Supervisor experience in the wholesale industry.
  • Increased knowledge and experience in SQF, HACCP, and GMP Principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Some college level management education.
  • Certifications in HACCP, PCQI, Food Defense, and SQF Practitioner.

Responsibilities

  • Assign duties to employees and schedule break periods, work hours, and vacations.
  • Schedule and perform periodic evaluations of employees as dictated by HR policies.
  • Promote a positive work environment and build team morale.
  • Work closely with staff to ensure quality and productivity requirements are met.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations in the Quality Control Department for all shifts.
  • Ensure all quality control programs and procedures are implemented correctly.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations (FDA, USDA, etc.).
  • Manage and maintain the company's quality inspection and product release programs for incoming materials.
  • Assist other warehouse supervisors and associates with policies and procedures.
  • Supervise warehouse products for Quality Control GMPs and enforce plant quality standards.
  • Increase awareness and continual evaluation of GMPs.
  • Ensure safety rules, production, and sanitation standards are met.
  • Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Follow up on customer concerns/complaints and provide resolutions.
  • Follow all food safety requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices.
