About the role We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Control Supervisor for the Rothschild, WI facility to lead a team of laboratory technicians in a Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)-compliant environment. This role is critical to ensuring the quality, safety, and regulatory compliance of excipients tested and released for sale to the pharmaceutical market. The supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations in a 24/7 laboratory equipped with advanced analytical instrumentation including HPLC, GC, and IC systems, while managing personnel under a Union contract.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or similar Science/Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of quality experience and/or training in the food and beverage industry.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of QC laboratory technicians across multiple shifts
  • Ensure all testing procedures comply with GLP standards, internal SOPs, and regulatory requirements (e.g., USP, EP, ICH)
  • Oversee analytical testing of excipients using HPLC, GC, IC, and other relevant techniques
  • Review and approve laboratory data, test results, and batch release documentation
  • Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation and ensure calibration and preventive maintenance schedules are followed
  • Collaborate with QA, Manufacturing, and Regulatory Affairs to support product release and investigations
  • Lead training and development initiatives for lab personnel, ensuring technical proficiency and compliance awareness
  • Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and audit-ready laboratory environment
  • Manage scheduling, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions in accordance with Union contract provisions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPAs) as needed.
