About The Position

This role leads daily testing and inspection operations, ensures product conformance to UL standards and customer requirements, and supports quality, safety, delivery, and cost goals across all test areas. The Quality Control Supervisor manages test technicians, coordinates priorities with production, and drives consistent process execution across the value stream. The Quality Control Supervisor is a fully onsite role based out of our Jacksonville location, and will report into our Test & Inspection Manager. Second shift hours are 3pm - 11:30pm. For onboarding and training purposes, the hired candidate will initially report into first shift (6:00am - 2:30pm).

Requirements

  • Safety Awareness, including electrical safety, PPE use, lockout requirements, and safe use of test equipment.
  • Compliance with UL testing and inspections requirements, standardized test procedures, and inspection checklists.
  • Consistent application of documented processes across all shifts.
  • Strong understanding of electrical testing, QC processes, inspection documentation, and test failure analysis.
  • High attention to detail during inspections, data entry, and test result validation.
  • Ability to identify nonconformances, support root cause actions, and maintain proper documentation.
  • Clear guidance and direction for technicians and inspectors.
  • Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication with test leads, QC leads, and production partners.
  • Skills in addressing conflict and supporting a positive work environment.
  • Coaching, mentoring, and supporting team development.
  • Ability to resolve production and testing issues quickly.
  • Strong prioritization and task organization to maintain testing throughput.
  • Accountability for schedule adherence, quality performance, and consistent process execution.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities or unplanned challenges.
  • Support training for new hires and existing team members.

  • Commitment to improving test processes, documentation, and safe work practices.
  • Technical Degree (Associates or BS) or Certification preferred; or 5 years’ experience in relevant manufacturing field.
  • At least 2 years of direct supervisory experience with production, engineering, warehouse and quality functions in a manufacturing/plant environment
  • Considerable experience with Measuring and Test Equipment is
  • Advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office applications (Access, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Thorough compliance knowledge for ISO 9001, NFPA, UL, and CSA

  • Continuously lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and climb.
  • Long periods of close work on computer screens, small fonts and fine print on drawings and ability to see small or detailed items.
  • Interpret, analyze, research and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Shop/warehouse. Not climate controlled. Exposure to excessive heat and cold, wet/humid conditions, noise/vibration, hazards, dust and fumes.

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Manufacturing and process improvement preferred
  • Prior experience with ETQ Reliance and/or Infor (Syteline) ERP systems is a plus.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or production preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily activities of Test Technicians and Inspectors supporting various product lines within the site.
  • Align testing and inspection tasks with the production schedule and communicated priorities.
  • Ensure adherence to UL standards, customer specifications, electrical testing requirements, and company policies.
  • Oversee testing processes including hipot, megger, torque checks, functional testing, continuity inspections, and other required verifications.
  • Verify all testing logs, data sheets, inspection forms, and digital entries are accurate and complete.
  • Support root cause investigations and corrective or preventative actions for test or quality issues.
  • Train and mentor team members on test procedures, safety practices, documentation, and equipment usage.
  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Project Management, and Materials teams to resolve test failures, part shortages, or missing documentation.
  • Maintain test equipment readiness including calibration, safety checks, and proper storage.
  • Monitor daily performance indicators including first-time quality, test throughput, retest rates, and downtime.
  • Communicate risk conditions, schedule conflicts, and equipment concerns to the Test and Inspection Manager.
  • Support continuous improvement activities through accurate data collection and participation in process reviews.
  • Enforce escalation procedures for safety events, quality issues, and critical equipment failures.
  • Manage workforce expectations related to attendance, conduct, performance, and company policies.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Test and Inspection Manager.
