About The Position

The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures to correct or improve the organization's final products to meet established quality standards. This role involves participating in various quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with customer specifications, and maintaining documentation systems in accordance with industry standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma is required; Associate's degree or higher is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience is preferred.
  • AS 9100 Internal Auditor training to be completed within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in Purchase Order review meetings to review and release incoming Shapes customer orders with input from the contract review team.
  • Review customer specifications to ensure compliance prior to accepting and releasing a customer order.
  • Evaluate product produced per customer orders for compliance and issue certificates of conformity.
  • Create inspection test plans and first article inspection reports for customer product release.
  • Recommend process adjustments based on quality control data and visual inspection.
  • Assist in maintaining a documentation system in conformance to AS9100 quality control standards.
  • Support the maintenance, calibration, and minor repair of lab equipment and introduction of new analytical instruments.
  • Assist in writing operating procedures for quality-related tasks specialized for the aerospace industry.
  • Support internal, customer, and international quality audits in compliance with AS9100, ISO14001, and RC14001.
  • Investigate customer complaints, determine root causes, and issue corrective actions.
  • Provide Quality related documentation for customer Source Inspectors.
  • Assist in managing sub-tier suppliers to ensure requirements are met.
  • Conduct mechanical and physical testing under international standards and document results.
  • Physically and electronically release raw, intermediate, and finished goods.
  • Help manage and train other technicians in the quality process.
  • Develop and ensure training compliance for control procedures in the Performance Foams production process.
  • Contribute to the identification and evaluation of current policies and business processes within the Quality Management System.
