Position Overview The Quality Control Specialist is responsible for performing quality inspections and managing quality of work for the print and inserting departments. The position is handling mail that must meet specific USPS and Zelis production standards that include maintaining high quality work in a high-volume environment. This individual is responsible for inspections and support for multiple machines. This includes managing all spoiled pieces with 100% accuracy and completing paperwork according to standard operating processes. Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent GED required (or equivalent experience)
  • Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
  • Must have basic computer skills (data entry, etc.)
  • Must be able to maintain good attendance
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed, significant overtime is required during busy periods

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years’ experience in production print environment preferred but not required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred

Responsibilities

  • Inspects finished products to meet production standards before they’re shipped to customer
  • Manually handle documents after inspection and prepare for induction to the mail stream.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Manage time to complete tasks in a timely manner and meet strict deadlines.
  • Conduct hourly QC checks of statements and die-cut ID cards, monitoring quality
  • Follows directions and instructions of Production Supervisor
  • Accurately follows all standard operating procedures and instructions relevant to the job
  • Follows established HIPAA, Compliance & Security policies, department policies and procedures
  • Troubleshoot and assist with issues related to quality in various production departments
  • Strong work ethic, interpersonal skills and ability to work in team environment to meet departmental goals
  • Other duties as assigned by management
