About The Position

Samsung Austin Semiconductor Samsung is a world leader in advanced semiconductor technology, founded on the belief that the pursuit of excellence creates a better world. At SAS, we are Innovating Today to Power the Devices of Tomorrow. Come innovate with us! Position Summary In your role as an experienced construction quality professional, you'll be responsibilities for overseeing the project's Construction Quality Management System (QMS). The role involves focusing on building and continuously enhancing robust, field-applicable processes that align with corporate protocols, ISO 9001 principles (process approach, risk-based thinking, continual improvement), industry codes (IBC, NEC, SEMI standards, ASME, etc.), and the unique demands of greenfield semiconductor construction, which encompasses clean build protocols, contamination prevention, and multi-phase handover requirements.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive, hands-on construction experience in quality assurance/control, field inspection, and construction management on large-scale industrial or mega-projects.
  • Strong construction background in heavy industrial, high-tech, or regulated environments (e.g., semiconductor fabs, cleanrooms, advanced manufacturing, data centers, or similar greenfield/new-build mega-projects, oil/gas) is highly preferred and prioritized.
  • Process-oriented mindset with exceptional ability to assess existing workflows, pinpoint inefficiencies/risks, and author clear, concise, actionable construction procedures and documentation that field teams can readily adopt.
  • Leadership in procedure adoption: skilled at training teams, gaining contractor buy-in, and enforcing updated processes in fast-paced, multicultural settings.
  • Construction-focused mindset: deep understanding of translating standards into actionable instructions for trades, with emphasis on clean build practices, quality checkpoints, and risk mitigation in greenfield execution.
  • Aptitude for documentation and data analysis using MS Office programs, including Project, Excel, Word, and Power Point.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-paced multi-cultural environment.
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills, leadership potential, and a desire to contribute to leading-edge planning and optimize project with aggressive goals and timelines.
  • All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor require you to be onsite.
  • We are not currently accepting applications for candidates who currently, or in the future, will need visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 principles, risk-based quality approaches, and semiconductor/cleanroom construction best practices (e.g., clean build protocols, SEMI standards) is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full lifecycle ownership of construction quality processes and procedures: author, revise, standardize, and implement detailed quality management documents including inspection/test plans (ITPs), checklists, work instructions, nonconformance reports (NCRs), corrective action protocols, audit templates, handover checklists, and cleanroom transition procedures.
  • Drive continual improvement of the QMS by analyzing field performance data, lessons learned, audit findings, and non-conformances to identify gaps; update and reissue procedures to enhance efficiency, reduce risks, and ensure scalability across civil, structural, MEP, process utility, and cleanroom fit-out phases.
  • Oversee contractor and subcontractor compliance: perform in-depth reviews of submittals, method statements, shop drawings, and field activities against the latest approved procedures; enforce adherence through structured oversight and corrective guidance.
  • Conduct frequent, in-depth on-site quality audits, surveillances, and inspections of General Contractors and subcontractors, verifying adherence to updated procedures, best construction practices, and contamination control measures in a multicultural team setting.
  • Manage the end-to-end quality issue lifecycle: identify/track non-conformances, facilitate rapid resolution, maintain a centralized NCR log, verify close-outs, and communicate status/trends to project leadership.
  • Establish, track, and report quality performance metrics (KPIs) such as NCR rates, audit compliance scores, procedure adherence percentages, and rework trends; develop dashboards and analyses to demonstrate QMS effectiveness and support data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to integrate quality processes into construction sequencing, subcontractor pre-qualification, training programs, and phased handover protocols.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Life insurance and 401(k) matching with immediate vesting
