This position will be in Wilton, CT. As the QC Project Manager, you will champion quality initiatives within the Optics Manufacturing area, with a strong focus on leading quality projects, establishing standards, and driving continuous process improvement. You will manage cross-functional efforts, collaborating closely with Production and Engineering to ensure the safe, on-time delivery of high-quality products. Shift: 1st shift (Mon-Fri)

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Optics, Physics or Engineering field. Masters Preferred.
  • 5+ Years of Manufacturing Experience
  • 5+ Years of Managing Programs, Products and/or Projects
  • Strong LEAN manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience (LSSGB Preferred)
  • Computer proficiency with MS Outlook 365 applications, with knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP system.
  • Familiar with ISO9001 and ISO14001. Direct working experience in an ISO certified environment desirable.
  • Prior experience managing teams required
  • Can observe and respond to people and situations and interact with others encountered in the course of work.
  • Willingness to engage in hands-on research to understand manufacturing processes/dependencies and assess/balance risks.
  • Ability to interact and influence at various organizational levels to achieve short and long-term goals.
  • Strong sense of ownership and personal accountability.
  • Adaptability to changing processes and plans in a high-pressure, dynamic work environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify critical content, and drive discussion/action with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and execute quality-focused projects that enhance operational performance and product reliability.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards and best practices across the optics manufacturing area.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve quality issues, streamline workflows, and improve compliance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and use data-driven insights to drive improvements.
  • Manage a team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Advance QC standards, inspection methods, and documentation requirements.
  • Creating employee annual performance goals, coach your team for daily success.
  • Manage a team responsible for audits of processes, work instructions, and tooling to ensure conformance.
  • Partner with Metrology Engineering to ensure proper measurement system analysis (MSA, GR&R) and calibration of inspection equipment.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for nonconformance issues within the factory, ensuring timely resolution and corrective actions through structured formats.
  • Foster a “first time right” mindset on inspection discipline, documentation accuracy, and defect prevention.
  • Partner with manufacturing to advance the quality training and certification for the workforce.
  • Maintain a project tracker for ongoing quality initiatives, driving accountability and follow-up on action items.
  • Leading by example, encourage personal motivation in an effort to achieve world class quality and performance.
  • Communicating effectively to gain buy-in from stakeholders and influence cross functional department leaders.
  • Administering and enforcing company policies and procedures in a direct and consistent manner.
