About The Position

The Quality Control Operator is responsible for maintaining quality on the production line by completing regular quality checks as well as checking bottles before they are packaged to remove any that have irregularities and do not meet quality guidelines. Waiakea Hawaiian Volcanic Water sources, manufactures and produces bottled water from start to finish at our Bottling Plant. Available Shift Schedules: Shift 2: Monday-Saturday, 2:00pm-10:30pm Shift 3: Monday-Saturday, 10:00pm-6:30am Shift Differentials will be paid as outlined below: Shift 3 receives an additional 5% hourly wage differential

Requirements

  • Excellent communication & attention to detail
  • Complies with all standard safety practices, safety rules, good manufacturing practices and all other company rules and requirements.
  • Required to continuously stand, walk, reach with arms & hands
  • Required to continuously use hands to handle product, materials, and machine
  • Required to frequently twist, bend, stoop, lift, climb and balance
  • Required to frequently lift and or move 10-20 pounds, lift and or move 20-30 pounds with reasonable accommodation, lift and or move 40-50 pounds with the aid of a co-worker and/or reasonable accommodations

  • GED/high school education (preferred); or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to use a computer or tablet to enter production metrics
  • Ability to comprehend basic verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to distinguish and identify different products by reading labels

Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality control by inspecting all bottles on the production line
  • Completes daily and weekly sanitation cleanings on production line
  • Work with Operators on the production line by communicating any errors in quality of manufactured product to ensure corrective action is taken
  • Discard bad finished product
  • Discard bottles that have cap issues, discoloration in bottles mold, deformations, and impurities
  • Ensure bottle coder is printing and printing the correct date, time and lot code
  • Check for label placement by referring to label placement guidelines
