The Quality Control Microbiologist Professional plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of healthcare solutions by providing microbiological testing and support to the Microbiology and Manufacturing departments. This position involves executing various quality control microbiology tests, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the laboratory environment.

  • Provide microbiological testing and support to the Microbiology and Manufacturing departments
  • Execution of QC-Micro testing including Bioburden, Endotoxin, water testing, growth promotion, Microbial identifications, Raw materials, Microbial limit testing, Sterility testing and Environmental monitoring
  • Proficient with small volume pipetting and the use of micropipettes
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP and Standard Operating Procedures at all times
  • Review and approve documentation
  • Provide technical guidance and expertise to the QC Microbiology Team and external departments
  • Interact effectively with other departments, particularly Microbiology, Production, Validation, Manufacturing, Planning, and QA
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in the lab
  • Represent QC Micro at cross-functional meetings
  • Support audits conducted by regulatory agencies like FDA
  • Conduct duties in a safe manner and report all safety issues or concerns
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a Science discipline: Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or Pharmacy
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience within Microbiology in a GMP facility, preferably within the pharmaceutical / biotechnology industry
  • Knowledge of quality management systems
