About The Position

The ideal candidate is a seasoned engineering professional with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5-7 years of experience in cement manufacturing, including at least 3 years in a Quality Control environment. They bring a strong foundation in supervisory leadership, having held responsible roles for 5 or more years, and are adept at managing teams and technical operations. This individual is highly proficient with computer systems and software, including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and Windows-based operating systems. They possess a thorough understanding of automated laboratory equipment or have demonstrated the ability to quickly master complex technical systems. They are a hands-on leader who thrives in a collaborative environment, maintaining close coordination with production and process departments to ensure the delivery of cost-effective, high-quality clinker and cement products. With a strong commitment to safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement, the ideal candidate takes full ownership of the Quality Control Department's technical operations, including the implementation of Quality Management System activities. Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • Must have 5-7 years of cement manufacturing experience with 3 years Quality Control atmosphere.
  • Must have solid computer skills, with experience working with spreadsheet, Windows, word processing, database applications and PC operating systems.
  • Must have at least 5 years of previous supervisory experience or other responsible position.
  • Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of automated laboratory equipment or have demonstrated the ability to learn all aspects of it.

Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for the supervision of Quality control personnel and of all technical activities of the Quality Control Department (both chemically and physically) to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the plant manufacturing process.
  • Maintains a close relationship with the production/process department to ensure the most cost-effective products (clinker & cement), at the established quality and uniformity targets.
  • The Quality Manager has overall responsibility for the technical operation of the laboratory and for implementing Quality Management System activities.
