About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual for the Quality Control Manager position in our Middle Tennessee operations . This position will be based in Gallatin, Tennessee and will report directly to the area vice president. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and cost control throughout our existing operations, while supporting continued growth across the region.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of asphalt and aggregate testing and mix design procedures
  • Proficiency in blending aggregates and asphalt materials to meet TDOT specifications
  • Strong leadership experience managing quality programs across multiple facilities
  • Proven ability to train, mentor, and develop Quality Control staff.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations and senior leadership to improve product quality and drive differentiation.
  • Bachelor’s degree related to construction technology, engineering, geosciences, manufacturing, or another related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in aggregates and asphalt operations required.
  • Minimum 3+ years managing QC labs and multi-site operations preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • PE license preferred.
  • Certifications in Soils & Aggregate Testing and Hot Mix Asphalt preferred (TDOT certifications a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Oversee quality control functions across 4 asphalt plants, 6 quarries, and 1 resale yard
  • Ensure all products meet TDOT and customer specifications through consistent testing, process control, and continuous improvement.
  • Design, implement, and enforce quality control standards across aggregate and asphalt operations.
  • Lead, train, and develop Quality Control Technicians, Roadway Technicians, Drone Pilots, and lab personnel across multiple sites.
  • Monitor plant and quarry production to proactively identify and resolve quality issues impacting performance or customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with operations, plant managers, and commercial teams to optimize mix designs and aggregate blends for both performance and cost efficiency.
  • Evaluate and recommend staffing, equipment, and laboratory resources necessary to achieve regional quality goals.
  • Support environmental compliance efforts and site condition assessments, including assisting with permits, inspections, and geotechnical evaluations as needed.
  • Drive a culture of safety, accountability, and operational excellence across all facilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of regional and enterprise objectives.
