About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. RGI, established in 1908, has the distinction of being recognized as the largest privately held aggregate producer in the United States. Rogers Group is currently seeking an individual for the Quality Control Manager position in our East Middle Tennessee operation. The position will be based out of Cookeville, TN. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable knowledge of Asphalt and Aggregate testing and design procedures.
  • Proficient in blending aggregates and asphalt to specifications to conform to TXDOT requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with senior management to accelerate the improvement and differentiation of existing products.
  • Proven ability to supervise, train, and develop Quality Control Technicians.
  • 5-7 years’ experience dealing with aggregates and asphalt required.
  • 3+ years’ experience managing Quality Control labs and overseeing multiple facilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Technology or related field of study preferred.
  • Will consider an Associate ’ s degree and/or 5-7 years of direct industry experience.
  • Certifications in Soils & Aggregate Testing and Hot Mix Asphalt preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the quality control functions at 12 quarries and 5 asphalt plants.
  • Responsible for designing and implementing quality control standards and overseeing the inspection of production output to assure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Developing Quality Control Technicians and monitoring their work.
  • Evaluating and recommending the resources necessary to meet our quality goals.
  • Assist in maintaining permits with environmental agencies.
  • A variety of other important tasks and duties as needed and assigned.
