About The Position

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control standards across assigned projects. This role ensures that all work performed meets or exceeds contract documents, specifications, industry standards, and company quality expectations. The Quality Control Manager works closely with project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field crews to proactively identify issues, prevent rework, and promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of construction experience in quality control, field supervision, or project management.
  • Experience working with specialty interior scopes including metal framing, drywall systems, ceilings, insulation, and fireproofing.
  • Ability to read and fully understand construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Ability to identify critical quality risks and proactively resolve issues prior to installation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on all assignments.
  • Must possess strong English reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction science, engineering, or related field.
  • Previous experience in a Quality Control leadership role.
  • Experience with document review software such as Bluebeam is preferred.
  • Local to office or region preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and comply with all company policies, procedures, and corporate safety program.
  • Actively participate in project safety plans and coordinate quality requirements with safety initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce project-specific Quality Control (QC) plans.
  • Review contract language, scopes of work, drawings, specifications, and special provisions to identify quality requirements.
  • Ensure project team members understand quality expectations and inspection criteria.
  • Establish and maintain quality standards for specialty scopes including metal framing, drywall, finishing, acoustical ceilings, insulation, fireproofing, and more.
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled jobsite inspections to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and manufacturer requirements.
  • Identify non-conforming work, document deficiencies, and coordinate corrective action with project managers, superintendents, and foremen.
  • Track corrective actions and verify timely resolution to minimize rework and schedule impacts.
  • Coordinate mock-ups, first-in-place inspections, and benchmark installations as required by contract or company standards.
  • Review submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals for quality compliance.
  • Maintain quality inspection reports, logs, and documentation for assigned projects.
  • Participate in preconstruction meetings, pre-installation meetings, and coordination meetings as required.
  • Support project closeout by verifying punch list completion and final quality acceptance.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to field supervision to reinforce quality best practices.
  • Analyze recurring quality issues and recommend training, procedural improvements, or corrective measures.
