Quality Control Manager, Honolulu
About The Position
As a Quality Control Manager, reporting to the Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage the Quality Control program and Quality Control Inspector team. Lead and manage Inspection to contract specifications the quality of concrete mix designs, construction submittals, testing procedures, etc. Direct the inspection of concrete steel reinforcement and form work on bridge decks, beams, box culverts, columns, footings, utilities and roadways Develop understanding/working knowledge of company quality control program, company standards, procedures, codes, etc. required to perform assigned work Oversee inspections and witness tests applicable to discipline to determine acceptability of work Assist in maintaining work performance records, inspection records and other related items; assure correctness of all documents Lead the preparation/implementation of quality control procedures, i.e., inspection instructions, control measuring and test equipment, etc. Manage the quality control inspection schedules with other department schedules Participate in internal/external quality control audits Review and approve purchase documents to ensure compliance with quality control requirements Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business management or similar, from an accredited Institution
- 10 or more years of experience in support of heavy civil construction testing, inspection, supervision or management in support of large public works projects
- 5 or more years as a supervisor or manager of construction quality control teams
- Experience with contract specifications as they apply to quality control and/or assurance
- Experience with Microsoft Office
Nice To Haves
- ACI or other industry related certifications (preferred)
