About The Position

The Laboratory Technician will ensure quality control, follow processes, and inspect incoming material for finished goods. Complete testing of material and products by UL, ASTM, etc. specifications. Documenting and archiving tests reports and QC documentation. This person will also be responsible for archiving material and samples for historical purposes.

Requirements

  • Technical Training or degree with minimum 5 years’ experience
  • CTT Certification (Composites Technician Training via ACMA)
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, other common professional and engineering software, and Explorer
  • Ability to solve problems and trouble shoot products and production issues
  • Organizational Skills

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree or higher in a relative/related field or equivalent proven experience.
  • Experience with Fiberglass reinforcements and associated processing methods.
  • Hands on experience with laboratory testing.
  • Knowledge of laboratory and product testing using standard industry test equipment.
  • Knowledge of fiberglass and unsaturated polyester and vinylester resin systems.
  • Experience with Unsaturated Polyester and Vinylester Thermoset Systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Laboratory testing (destructive and non-destructive) raw materials, including but not limited to; DSC, mechanical testing (Flexural/Tensile), Gel Times, Viscosity Checks, thermal and mechanical properties.
  • Other chemical and physical property testing
  • Understand and work with solvent, water base and UV Cured coating systems
  • Understand and work with solvent and water based adhesive systems
  • Conducting and managing quality control systems for incoming, in process and finished products
  • Maintaining QC and Laboratory testing documentation
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive customer relations by demonstrating a professional and positive work ethic.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and detail oriented. Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction in both team and individual roles
  • Other various duties as assigned to support the organization.
