Our paid internship program provides a rich and rewarding hands-on learning experience and the opportunity to learn about our organization. Our high school interns work under the close direction of an experienced supervisor/manager in our quarries to test aggregate and asphalt building materials to ensure they meet our high-quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Learn Quality Control methods and reporting procedures.
- Follow quality control plans or guidelines as assigned.
- Learn paving process and density control.
- Work to understand aggregate processing and quality conformance.
- Assist with testing materials in a safe, efficient, and productive manner.
- Identify and become familiar with various mix specifications requirements.
- Communicate with other technicians regarding mix specifications and test results.
- Report and communicate test results ethically, adhering to the company's Ethics Policy.
- Participate in and promote an inclusive work environment.
Requirements
- Must be available to work approximately 40 hours per week.
- Detail Oriented.
- Ability to perform intermediate mathematical skills, including basic algebra.
- Must have a current and valid driver's license.
- Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
- Must pass post offer pre-employment controlled substance testing.
- Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.
