About The Position

Within a team framework, a field technician is responsible for implementing the QA/QC program for batching, mixing and delivery of ready-mixed concrete. The purpose of the program is to produce concrete that meets project specifications and customer expectations. Follows daily direction from the Field Technician Supervisor. Calibrate production and testing equipment. Sample and test raw materials for specification compliance. Perform QC tests for: entrained air content, slump/workability, coarseness/sandiness, yield, setting time, water-cement ratio and strength. Record and report test results to dispatch, batch personnel and the customer. Use test results to make mix adjustments. Troubleshoot fresh/hardened concrete problems. Conduct periodic informative programs for drivers, batch personnel, etc. Compliance with job description addendum.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, Tech school graduate preferred.
Must have a college degree or work towards one.
Good oral/written communications skills.
Ability to use a scientific calculator.
Capable of making quick and responsible decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Valid driver's license.
ACI Field and State Plant and Field certifications or willing to attain after hired.
Able to lift 100 lbs. and climb up and down the ready-mix trucks.
