About The Position

Stanislaus Food Products is a nationally recognized, family-owned company known for crafting the finest Italian-style tomatoes and sauces for top-quality Italian restaurants and pizzerias. This is a seasonal, full-time position located on-site at our Modesto Cannery. In this role, you will have the opportunity to learn different monitoring processes that ensure food safety and product quality. You will work with the Quality Control Manager to better understand the overall functions of the department. This role will be expected to work at least 6 days a week during our Harvest Season from mid-July to late September. Our Cannery runs 24/7 so flexibility to work any shift (Days, Swing or Graveyard) is required.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a four‑year college or university and working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet required monitoring deadlines.
  • Willing to learn and follow procedures for identifying non‑conforming products or equipment on hold.
  • Ability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Flexibility to rotate through various departments to perform different QC‑related duties.
  • Reliable and punctual with consistent daily attendance and ability to work during our entire Fresh-Pack season from July through the end of September.

Responsibilities

  • Working under the guidance of QA and QC management to support compliance with company food safety and quality standards.
  • Inspecting and monitoring products and processes, including establishing and maintaining centerlines.
  • Performing routine Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) and/or Quality Control checks throughout production to ensure processes remain in control and products meet company specifications.
  • Learning and applying Learn food safety and QC process controls through monitoring and documentation.
  • Assisting with reviewing, updating, and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Supporting quality improvement initiatives, studies, and projects as directed by Quality Control management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
