About The Position

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for ensuring that products meet established quality standards through detailed inspections of in-process and finished goods. This role involves interpreting technical documentation, using precision measurement tools, identifying and documenting non-conformances, and updating ERP systems to manage suspect items. Inspectors perform first-piece and receiving inspections, monitor gauge calibration, and maintain accurate records to support traceability. They also uphold safety and compliance policies and assist with various quality-related tasks including sorting, testing, and cross-functional support.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office applications and navigating web-based document control systems.
  • Proficient in reading and understanding work instructions, test methods, control plans, and other quality-related documentation.
  • Demonstrates solid basic math skills for measurement, calculation, and data verification tasks.
  • Skilled in using standard inspection tools such as tape measures, calipers, micrometers, and other basic gauges.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints to support inspection and quality control processes.

  • Associate degree preferred; equivalent technical training or relevant work experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed inspections of in-process and finished goods to ensure adherence to work instructions and established quality standards. Identify, document, and address non-conformances through rework or rejection protocols.
  • Detect and communicate discrepancies or errors in documentation, drawings, or specifications that could impact product quality, ensuring timely feedback and escalation to appropriate personnel.
  • Apply visual indicators and update the ERP system to identify and isolate suspect or non-conforming items, preventing unintended use or shipment until resolution.
  • Operate and interpret results from gauging tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, force gages and micro ohm meters to verify product dimensions and tolerances with accuracy and consistency
  • Read and understand engineering drawings, blueprints, control plans, and inspection procedures to guide quality assessment.
  • Perform first-piece inspections on production runs to validate that initial outputs meet all required specifications before full-scale manufacturing proceeds.
  • Support receiving inspection when required.
  • Identification of damaged or out of calibration gages.
  • Record inspection data on check sheets or in digital systems, ensuring all forms, reports, and logs are completed with precision and attention to detail to maintain traceability and compliance.
  • Comply with all safety, environmental, and quality assurance policies and procedures to support a safe and compliant work environment.
  • Assist with other quality-related activities as assigned, including quality sorting, product testing, and cross-functional support tasks.
