Quality Control Inspector - 2nd Shift

Requirements
- High School education or the equivalent is required.
- Minimum of two years' experience in construction industry and/or welding.
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) may be required.
- Must be proficient in reading and interpreting structural steel drawings.
- Must have excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. frequently, climb 25 ft, and ability to bend, stoop, push and pull frequently.
- Exposure to temperature fluctuations and loud work environment.
- Overtime and weekend work may be required.
- Candidates must show the capacity to proactively initiate, effectively lead, and consistently uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspects all fabrication jobs to maintain the quality levels of work produced in accordance with applicable codes and standards and Prospect Steel QC procedures.
- Travels to subcontracts to inspect jobs for proper standards when required.
- Prepares daily inspection reports.
- Monitor records on all shop welders with their level of certification and monitor daily rod use.
- Assist in setting up, monitor and maintain welding procedures, bolting procedures and painting procedures required for projects.
- Provide feedback on questions related to qualifying and project requirements from shop employees.
- The ability to work overtime and regular, punctual attendance is required.
