About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Quality supervisor, the Quality inspector ensures products and processes meet Cowles quality standards by inspecting production materials and processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and minimum of 1-year previous experience in a similar role.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and depth perception.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel
  • The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills, particularly in English.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures.
  • Ability to write reports.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft office programs.

Responsibilities

  • Quarantine and troubleshoot all line reject material and assemblies.
  • Test and diagnose field returns by following the company’s warranty procedures.
  • Maintain the warranty log database.
  • Incoming inspection of selected purchased material.
  • Random quality audit of residential oil burners to assess product quality.
  • In-process production line inspection as necessary.
  • First Article inspection of welding department parts prior to production startup.
  • Make suggestions for efficiency or quality improvements to production processes.
  • Recommend repairs or replacement to defective or worn assembly equipment.
  • Utilize tools like calipers, gauges, micrometers, and electronic inspection equipment to measure and test products.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following company standards and procedures.
  • Perform other assigned duties as directed.
