About The Position

JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Quality Control Inspector Summary/Objective The quality control inspector position performs dimensional checks on all running parts by reading blueprints and working with several types of hand held equipment. The QC inspector is essential to maintaining the high quality standard we provide to our customers. Essential Functions Performs dimensional in-process inspection checks at start-up, shut-down, and every 2/4/6 hours or as specified. Pulls overstock for jobs just starting up. Researches questionable defects using the last shot library, PIMM (production instruction multi media), MRBs, and RMA information (Using the Quality Escalation Process Procedure). Identifies and contains defective parts. Moves nonconforming parts to the NC area. Creates MRBs for non-conformed parts that contains details on the issue. Follows up on quality issues and ensures issues have been resolved if parts continue to run. Clears out oldest last shots and replaces with new last shots. Helps clean out last shot library boxes as time allows. Ensures operators understand and are following the PIMM. Ensures operators understand the tally sheets and are marking down reject parts. Gives breaks to operators. Backs up the finished goods auditor by visually inspecting parts, weighing parts, and scanning finished product when time allows. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. At times, fumes from burnt plastic may be present. The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud. Physical Demands The employee is required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. There may be repeated reaching, twisting, and hand movements throughout the shift. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 35 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time, 2nd shift position. 2nd shift hours are: 2:45 pm – 11:15 pm. 40 hours per week. Travel No travel is expected for this position. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED Prior use of hand held measuring tools such as: calipers, micrometers, go/no go gauges, height and depth gauges, and optical comparator. The salary range for this position is: $17.00 - $23.00. This range reflects the base salary for this position. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior use of hand held measuring tools such as: calipers, micrometers, go/no go gauges, height and depth gauges, and optical comparator.
  • Blueprint reading and comprehension
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions and do basic math
  • Basic keyboarding and computer skills

  • Prior plastic injection molding experience
  • IQMS experience
