About The Position

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Quality Control Inspector shall perform quality control inspection of structural and piping welding, piping fabrication and assembly of fabricated structures. The inspections shall consist of visual, dimensional, assembly, testing verification as well as some field inspection, if required.

Requirements

  • Good writing skills.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and specifications.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, written and verbal, with various levels of management, customers, vendors, and other employees.
  • Ability to use basic mathematics in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to use business software such as Microsoft Office etc.
  • Work with minimal supervision in the accomplishment of duties.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in quality assurance, quality control or quality management
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with ISO-9000 or similar quality management systems.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience with ASME Section VIII, IX, V, ASME B31.9, ASME B31.5, ISO-9000, AWS Dl .1, SSPC, or similar welding, construction, and Quality codes.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Certified Quality Inspector required within one year of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Applied Science is a plus
  • Qualifications in NDE methods or a Certified level II CWI or ACWI is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual inspection of welded parts and assemblies in accordance with the applicable design requirements
  • Interprets Drawings, procedures, instructions, and specifications for determining the acceptance of the product undergoing examination
  • Perform dimensional inspection on piece parts and assemblies in accordance with applicable design documents within the manufacturing facility, at suppliers, or at the customer site
  • Monitor and records results of component testing (hydrostatic testing, coating etc.), witness, or process audits in accordance with documented procedures
  • Prepares nonconformance reports, where applicable, and completes all other documentation requirements
  • Ensure documentation of inspection and testing is performed
  • Assist in the training of other personnel as required by the appropriate management personnel or as required by the specific task being performed
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by TAS.
