About The Position

Pacific Recycling, Inc. is a family-owned scrap metal recycling facility that values honesty and hard work. We are looking for a friendly, reliable, hard-working person to join our team immediately. Job Summary: Quality Control greets, directs, and assists customers—grading materials, identifying prohibited items, and coordinating with scale and equipment operators.

Requirements

• Must be able to communicate effectively in English to understand instructions and emergency communications
• 18 years of age
• Self-motivated and eager to learn
• Reliable with the ability to adhere to a work schedule
• Lift up to 50 pounds from the floor to waist level and carry such objects for at least 30 feet.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in scrapyard preferred but not required
• Forklift certification (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Inspect inbound and outbound loads
• Material grading – ensure products meet specifications and sort/separate accordingly
• Prohibited materials (sealed containers, hazardous materials, explosives, etc.)
• Direct and assist customers with material unloading
• Direct traffic effectively
• Communicate clearly and efficiently via radio to scale and equipment operators
• Use forklifts for unloading assistance
