Quality Control Inspector (Precision Sheet Metal Work)
About The Position
JOB PURPOSE To implement and follow quality control programs designed to ensure products and production methods meet the organization's established standards. JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor. • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work. • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database. • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs. • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures. • Accomplishes quality and organizations mission by completing related results as needed. • Inventory Control. • Reports results to management. Calibration of in-house inspection equipment. SHOP HOURS: Monday-Friday 7 am to 3:30 pm

- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses...forming rolls and routers to cut, bend block and form or straighten materials
- Trim, file, grind, de-burr, buff and smooth surfaces, using hand tools or portable power tools
- Layout and mark dimensions and reference lines on material using scribers, dividers, squares and rulers
- Plan, layout, fabricate, assemble and repair sheet metal parts, equipment and products, utilizing a knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques
- Bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, and bonds component parts to assemble products, using hand tools, power tools, and equipment
- Inspect assemblies for conformance to specifications...using measuring instruments required
- Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure
- Select gauge and type of sheet metal
- Apply knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop and trace patterns to product or parts (or use templates)
