About The Position

JOB PURPOSE To implement and follow quality control programs designed to ensure products and production methods meet the organization's established standards. JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, rejecting and returning unacceptable materials. • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor. • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work. • Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database. • Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; calling for repairs. • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures. • Accomplishes quality and organizations mission by completing related results as needed. • Inventory Control. • Reports results to management. Calibration of in-house inspection equipment. SHOP HOURS: Monday-Friday 7 am to 3:30 pm

  • Layout and mark dimensions and reference lines on material using scribers, dividers, squares and rulers
  • Plan, layout, fabricate, assemble and repair sheet metal parts, equipment and products, utilizing a knowledge of working characteristics of metallic and nonmetallic materials, machining, and layout techniques
  • Bolts, rivets, screws, clips, caulks, and bonds component parts to assemble products, using hand tools, power tools, and equipment
  • Inspect assemblies for conformance to specifications...using measuring instruments required
  • Repeat tasks of short duration according to a set procedure
  • Select gauge and type of sheet metal
  • Apply knowledge of shop mathematics and layout techniques to develop and trace patterns to product or parts (or use templates)
