Zone 5 is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Control Inspector to join our production team. The Quality Control Inspector will be responsible with ensuring the quality of produced components and assemblies. This will include the control of critical dimension and tolerances, ensuring that all parts are manufactured to the specification as required. This role involves working closely with engineers, production technicians, and operations teams to support multiple programs and value streams.

Requirements

  • 2+ years inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced in using precision measuring equipment.
  • Familiarity with testing of electronic/electrical assemblies.
  • The ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and visual work instructions.
  • The ability to learn quickly and be able to work productively minimal direct supervision.
  • Highly organized with faultless attention to detail.
  • Proven communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in the aerospace quality inspection or quality assurance field in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced in using calibrated precision measuring equipment.
  • Certified in IPC/WHMA-A-620 inspection.
  • The ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and visual work instructions.
  • The ability to learn quickly and be able to work productively without direct supervision.
  • Highly organized with faultless attention to detail.
  • Proven communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Experience under AS9100 Quality Management System.
  • First Article Experience
  • CMM (Coordinate Measurement Machine)

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality inspections for receiving/in-process/final quality inspections on manufactured parts and assemblies.
  • Ensure proper recording and documentation of inspection results.
  • Ensure inspection work is done effectively, efficiently, and thoroughly.
  • Report any discrepancies through a Non-Conformance reporting process.
  • Highlight all concerns directly back to the QA and production team and record in the quality monitoring system in a timely manner.
  • Follow detailed work instructions to inspect mechanical, electronic, electro-mechanical assemblies and wire harnesses.
  • Perform quality control on incoming products and perform inspection duties on outgoing products as needed.
  • Provide detailed feedback for QA and production improvements to ensure high quality standards are maintained.
  • Prep area for external audits and performs internal audit.
  • Keep a clean and organized workspace.
  • Calibration tracking and enforcement of assigned tools.
  • Help create and develop calibration tracking and enforcement.
  • Assist with documentation of inspections and other non-routine activities as assigned by management.
