About The Position

Established in 1987 and located in Livermore, California, GDCA has its roots in the Silicon Valley. GDCA’s location affords access to leading technology experts who help develop the ever-evolving tools we use to sustain our customers’ critical programs. Quality Control Inspector reports to the Manufacturing Engineer and is responsible for approving incoming and outgoing in-process production materials, finished products, and repaired products, recording quality results. The Quality Control Inspector works closely with the Receiving, Logistics and Production teams. · Evaluate incoming and outgoing materials: inspect to determine whether they are acceptable for use on GDCA product and are in compliance with specifications. Includes: components, fabricated items, in-process production, finished products, and repaired products. Disposition approved and unapproved materials in accordance with internal processes. · Track the average inspection time required by the product and report this information as requested to assist with quoting, planning, and scheduling. · Maintain the inspection schedule by working with Production and Engineering to coordinate inspection scheduling for production materials and completed repairs. · Assist with managing the Materials Review Board by overseeing the investigation of routine nonconformances and appropriate disposition of nonconforming material, and maintaining records for regulatory audits. Escalate complex nonconformances to the MRB lead. Work with the MRB lead to identify and correct the root causes behind nonconforming material events and to verify that implementation of corrections are complete and effective. Capture board failure rate data and report it to the MRB lead. Monitor MRB shelf to ensure the proper location of nonconforming materials, and that they have appropriate documentation attached. · Monitor critical equipment and instrumentation by abiding by calibration and maintenance schedule to ensure the proper operation of equipment and instruments. · Review and document in-process inspections to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and flexibility of inspection process. This includes monitoring and measuring of set inspection metrics, evaluating them against targets, and using the results to recommend data-based process improvements. · Take ownership of role-related documentation by proactively maintaining and updating role-related work instructions forms, records, and inward and outward facing documentation.
