About The Position

The Quality Control Inspector at Pacific Spice Company is responsible for ensuring that all finished goods meet quality standards and comply with food safety regulations. This role involves conducting inspections, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the Quality Control Manager in various verification processes. The inspector plays a crucial role in upholding the company's food safety culture and ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years' related experience in quality control or food safety.
  • Knowledge of food safety principles, including GMP and HACCP.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience working in an FDA-regulated industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily finished goods inspections including net weight, label reconciliation, and retail seal bottle checks.
  • Perform pre-op and post-op inspections in compliance with food safety programs.
  • Assist the Quality Control Manager with line clearance and allergen checks as necessary.
  • Report any deviations observed during inspections to department heads and the Quality Control Manager.
  • Ensure timely microbiological testing of production batches and pull production samples as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and perform data entry related to quality control information.
  • Cross-train with Quality Control Technician responsibilities as required.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by management.
