The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for conducting inspections and testing activities to ensure compliance with customer, government, and military specifications. This role involves using various analytical instruments and testing equipment to assess the quality of products, document non-conformances, and validate that customer requirements have been met after processing. The inspector plays a crucial role in maintaining quality standards and supporting the overall quality control process within the organization.

  • Interpret and apply customer requirements, government and military standards, and industry specifications for product inspection.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to determine inspection objectives.
  • Plan and devise methods for conducting inspection operations, including selecting appropriate tools and instruments.
  • Perform equipment calibrations as necessary.
  • Conduct mechanical measurements using prescribed inspection methods and standards.
  • Inspect for tolerances using instruments such as micrometers, Vernier calipers, and bore gages.
  • Set up, calibrate, and utilize x-ray equipment for plating thickness measurements.
  • Prepare microsection samples and interpret plating thickness from samples.
  • Maintain records and data supporting quality control inspection activities.
  • Participate in team activities to improve processes and productivity.
  • Assist other team members as required.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred in business, science, or technology.
  • 1 year of experience in inspection or quality-related roles required; 2-3 years preferred.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and job travelers.
  • Basic arithmetic skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Experience in quality assurance for 2 years preferred.
