About The Position

Perform thorough product inspections ensuring compliance to MEC requirements, quality standards, drawings, specifications, and contractual obligations. Document inspection results and report findings in SAP, collaborate with other members of the quality control team, and contribute to maintaining high product standards.

Requirements

  • High School graduate diploma or a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
  • One year minimum experience as a QC inspector
  • Must have a beginning level understanding of hardware blueprints (notes, features, views, tolerances, etc.) and a basic knowledge of specifications and contractural requirements
  • Excellent communications skills - both written and verbal
  • Able to perform basic math skills
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Able to work with others and be a team player
  • Must have a good attitude and willingness to learn
  • Able to perform basic computer tasks and have proficient typing skills
  • Ability to lift a minimum 35lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in GD&T, relevant American Society of Quality (ASQ) topics, or college degree in Engineering or other technical fields are a plus
  • Certificates of Completion in Quality Assurance for the professional a plus (i.e., CSUDH Quality courses)
  • Familiarity with SAP a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software

Responsibilities

  • Perform independent inspections, validations, and/or verifications of internal/external components to ensure compliance to Marvin Engineering processes, procedures, planning, and contractual obligations.
  • Inspect product using basic hand tools and visual inspection methods.
  • Visual inspection of mechanical assemblies, soldering, and paint finishes, in accordance to engineering requirements.
  • Review non-destructive test documentation and supplier documentation in accordance with MEC Purchase Order.
  • Generate inspection reports in accordance with MEC policy.
  • Identify and segregate suspect non-conforming material and generate Quality Notification (QN) in accordance with MEC Policy.
  • Perform first piece validations in support of all manufacturing areas.
  • Witness and validate fastener applications. Including torque, rivets, sealants, etc.
  • Support all QC areas including Receiving Inspection and In-Process Inspection.
  • May be asked to perform higher level inspections while under supervision; introduction to GD&T.
  • Interface with suppliers and/or internal customers.
