About The Position

The Quality Control Inspector / Sorter is responsible for ensuring product quality from first piece inspection through final shipment. This role includes performing dimensional and visual inspections, operating vision sorting equipment, safely transporting materials, and supporting production teams with quality-related concerns.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old
Ability to read and use basic measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators)
Basic understanding of shop math
Ability to input quality data into ERP system
Hi-lo (forklift) experience preferred
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and pass a physical exam

Responsibilities

Perform First Piece Inspections (dimensional and visual layout)
Conduct hourly inspections to ensure presses are checked regularly
Perform final hopper and final job inspections, checking for dirt, foreign material, and non-conforming parts
Set up and operate vision sorting machines
Perform visual sorting and inspection of product
Verify hopper tag information at the start and end of each production run
Accurately document inspection results in ERP system and/or inspection check sheets
Complete and file required paperwork including inspection sheets and certifications
Report non-conformances to the Quality Manager or Supervisor
Assist production teams with troubleshooting and problem-solving
Safely operate hi-lo (forklift) to transport materials throughout the facility
Maintain clean and organized work areas, machinery, and equipment
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Follow all safety standards and company policies
Complete additional tasks as assigned by Supervisor
