The Quality Control Inspector position at Aerospace Aircraft Welding & Mfg. Co. LLC is a full-time role based in Hartford, CT, with working hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of recent inspection experience, demonstrating expertise in blueprint reading and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). The role requires strong organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly workspace. Familiarity with ISO/AS quality systems, NADCAP, and various aerospace and commercial aircraft quality/process control systems is essential, while knowledge of FAA procedures is preferred but not mandatory. As a Quality Inspector, the individual will be responsible for reading and comprehending complex blueprints and drawings, programming measurement machinery for accurate part measurement, and performing manual CMM setup and operation. The inspector will measure parts according to specifications, including GD&T specifications, and conduct routine testing on products in process or finished products. Visual inspection for defects and detailed inspections to determine product quality are critical components of the role. The inspector will communicate with management when inspection data exceeds acceptable limits or when product quality is poor. Maintaining a clean and organized work area while adhering to company policies and safety and environmental standards is crucial. The inspector will also be proficient in Quality Systems AS9100 and ISO reporting, examining materials and goods through various means at different stages of production. Additionally, the role involves auditing internal processes for conformity to international and industry standards, identifying efficiency improvements through lean manufacturing techniques, and assisting in the sourcing and development of new supply chains.
